With most satellite systems, you own the equipment, so when it becomes outdated or obsolete, you're responsible for buying the new components. With cable, if you have cable connected to more than one TV in your house, your family can watch different channels on each set, simultaneously. With satellite, in order for someone in your house to watch one channel in the kitchen while you watch another channel in the living room, you would have to purchase a separate receiver for each TV.

However, should you need any assistance, customer service representatives are always ready to serve you at no extra charge. You'll be charged a fee if you need assistance with ordering a pay-per-view movie or event via a satellite provider.
Rain Fade
You won't experience these reception problems since your Florida Cable connection is a direct link. Satellite dishes can experience interference problems known as "rain fade".

Telephone Requirement
With Florida Cable's Digital Service, ordering pay-per-view simply requires the touch of a button on your remote control. In order to purchase pay-per-view via a satellite provider, a telephone line is required.
